Not much is new except as of 2 days ago, James and I have been married for 6 months!! Woohoo, milestone! We're having a fondue tonight to celebrate.
Sorry for the short update.....

Mural painting
On Saturday James and I went to his parents' house to paint a mural beside their hot tub. It was a long day but thankfully it's finished! I really didn't want to paint for more than one day. Other than that, nothing else has been going on. We've just been working on our classes and stuff...
Here are some mural pics:

Snow
I don't want snow in October. It's far too early to have snow when it's not even Halloween! People don't remember how to drive in snow (we get snow every year, you wouldn't think it would be a surprise)! I hope it melts soon. I am perfectly ok with snow in December.....mid-December even. Snow is not a lot of fun when you drive a mini-van.....
On better note, Halloween is coming and I love Halloween. You get to dress up, act crazy, and eat candy until you're sick. What are you going as?

Happy Thanksgiving!
For those of you who care, I took the second WOMBAT and got an Exceeds Expectations! Woohoo, better than last time.
This Thanksgiving, we went to Swan River, Manitoba for my baba and gido's 60th wedding anniversary. James and I, along with my sister, stayed at my aunt's house in Pelly (have you ever heard of Pelly? Oh speaking of small towns, the party was in Benito, Manitoba-ever heard of that?). Saturday we did prep work for the party, like chopping vegetables. Then we went with my dad to pick up my grandparents so they could have supper with us. Sunday was the party; it was a good time (but keep in mind the average age of the guests was atleast 65!). James ate sooo many perogies I think he still feels sick. Mmmmm-is there anything better than a thanksgiving meal that includes perogies and cabbage rolls?

The Nintendo Monster
So it was my birthday a couple of days ago and I got lots of great things including Tetris for Nintendo DS and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire for Gamecube. These games have taken over my life. I am completely addicted to Tetris-I play before bed and stay up untilI can't see the screen anymore!
Harry Potter is an AWESOME game-up to 3 people can play simultaneously! It is so much better than playing alone or waiting for the other person to be done their level (so when you come to Saskatoon next Jane you can come and play GOF!). The different areas (levels) are so big and take several times to complete since there are so many goals within each level. And once you learn new spells you need to go back to the previous levels since new challenges are added each time you gain knowledge. Totally awesome. We have made it through several levels including the first task (dragon) and the second task (the lake). Unfortunately, the triwizard tasks are played solo by Harry. I guess those levels wouldn't really make sense with Ron and Hermione joining the action!
GOF has taken over our evenings-you totally lose track of time. I don't want to beat the game too quickly though-the last level is with Voldemort!

Update!!!
Everyone should cheer today-Jacqui has finally updated her blog! What to write.... Lots of stuff has happened this summer but it would take way too long to talk about it all. Let's see, James and I have been going to my parents cabin every chance we got and had lots of fun relaxing (and painted half the interior!).
1+2-Nature at the Lake
3-I started fishing again this summer but I refuse to touch a fish, bait or to clean a fish!
4-I was a bridesmaid in my good friend Leah's wedding in July. It was a lot of fun.

Rehearsal
Well, I thought I'd start writing about the wedding so I'll begin with the rehearsal (because it's easy!). Our day started bright and early when my cousin Jody (ringbearers mom), Joc (my sister), Leah (maid of honour), and myself began making bouquets and corsages. I think it went fairly well, but boy, I was glad to have Jody's help. She did way more than the rest of us combined! After that James, myself, and the bridal party went to the hall to decorate. Or those of us who decided to show up. It worked out ok-we had enough help, although some people bailed out of the work!
After decorating we went to the church for the actual rehearsal. The priest was very grouchy-he yelled at my sister! Oh well. It wasn't a very long rehearsal. Then we went to Jim and Ruth's to eat supper in their backyard.
These were taken on the Thursday. The ringbearers were playing in my parent's backyard. So cute.
My boys. Left to right- Tyson (4yrs), Tyler (6yrs), Tanner (2yrs)
Above:
We were putting the flowers together in my parents garage. The first picture is of Jocelyn and Jody. The second is my bouquet. It was soooo heavy.
Below: The bridesmaids bouquets (with both live and wire flowers) and the extra flowers being put into vases.

Honeymoon
Ok, I know the honeymoon comes after the wedding but I'm going to put more pictures of the honeymoon first.
After we finally got to Paris (a day late, spent a night in Montreal, Air Canada is stupid) our airport transfer didn't show up so we had to improvise and take a cab. It was a private taxi so I was a bit nervous because he's just some guy with a car and a taxi license, but it turned out ok. Then we took a nap for a couple hours before going to the Louvre. Is that ever a big place on no sleep! I love history and art so I very much enjoyed myself, even though we had to skip sections of the museum. We were sleeping by 6pm that night!
On Thursday we went to the Rodin museum gardens and saw some wonderful sculptures. We then discovered butter and sugar crepes. Mmmmm. After our crepe we walked to a street market by the Eiffel Tower and bought wine to bring back with us. Then we went up to the 2nd level of the Eiffel Tower-when we got back lots of people thought we should have gone to the top but it looked way too high for me. Later in the day we went to my FAVOURITE museum ever-the Orsay Museum. It has a lot of Impressionist work which I love, especially Monet, Degas, etc.
Ok, I'm a HP geek. Jane will appreciate it!
On Friday we did lots of stuff-the Victor Hugo House, the Picasso Museum (but lots of the works I wanted to see were on loan). Then we took the metro for the first and last time on our trip to get closer to Sacre Coeur. What a beautiful church. And what a huge hill to climb to get there! That night we went on a river boat tour, and illuminations tour (you get to see everything lit up), and then for supper on the Champs Elysee. It was an awesome night.
On the Illuminations tour
The next day we took the RER to Versailles. When we were buying our tickets we saw a sign that said we could be our entrance tickets in advance. That was the smartest thing we did the entire trip. The line was so long and we didn't have to wait-the tickets we bought got us to the front! We were lucky because Saturday is the day there is a special fountain show in the garden, so we did that to.
On Sunday we went to Ste Chapelle and Notre Dame-both are beautiful. Mass was going on when we toured Notre Dame. It is always appalling to see how poorly people behave while touring a church. Why ruin it for others? In the afternoon we went to a fancy chocolate shop and bought the best chocolate cake in the world. Seriously.
Monday was our last day in Paris. The highlight of the day was the Opera Garnier-the building is so opulent. I felt like singing songs from Phantom of the Opera. James had the best cheese pizza I have ever tasted for lunch. We went into every book store we saw trying to find french Harry Potter but we never found it. What a great honeymoon. It went by so fast....

Back
Well we're married and back from our honeymoon. Both went fantastically well-the wedding weekend was sunny and clear and it didn't rain at all while we were in Paris. We have been bery busy since we've been back, trying to put stuff away and get our life back in order. We bought a new mattress!! Very exciting-a queen size. Ummm, I'll write more later....

The Countdown
We are now in an official countdown-11 sleeps until the wedding!!! The next days are going to be full of getting stuff together, finishing projects and panicking! It's been raining, which is good, because maybe it won't rain for the wedding. We are packing for the honeymoon as we speak and I don't know what I'm more excited for-the wedding or the honeymoon. Both are once in a lifetime events.

Done Finals
Well we're finally done finals and working nights at the university. It was exhausting and I'm so glad it's over. Hopefully I passed math and won't have to take it again. Now that finals are done I have to finish a bunch of wedding stuff. It's always seemed so far away and now it's finally here...but I should go and finish getting ready for my stagette...

WOMBAT
This wil be my last post for a bit since we are getting into finals and are going to start working nights on campus. That is really going to suck. We'll be so tired and stressed by the time May comes.... I had my bridal shower last Sunday-it was very nice and we received an incredibly generous amount of gifts. Thanks everyone!

The Art of Procrastination
Well, the end of the school year is near and now it's time to pay for procrastination. What have I left to the last minute? The reading that should have been done before each class, the review questions, and my music portfolio for my online class. Now it would have been easier to simply do the portfolio as I went along, but no. It isn't due until the end of term so why would I save myself a headache and do it ahead of time? Same with the reading, but it's the same every single year! The next few weeks will involve: scrambling about trying to read and review before exams and try to finish all the stuff left for the wedding! That's another thing: I've had years to finish all these projects but have left them all to now.
I guess I'll never learn. Hermione would never have this problem!

The Locket
James just called me to tell me something he heard listening to Harry Potter and I thought I would expand on it. I'm sure a million other fans (including Jane!) have come up with this theory but here it goes:
In HPB Harry learns about Horcruxes (for all you muggles out there a Horcrux "is the word used for an object in which a person has concealed part of their soul " HBP 464. When you divide your soul, if you die there is still part of you around so you can still live some form of existence). It is believed that Voldemort divided his soul into 6 parts. Harry and Dumbledore go on a journey to recover a locket which Dumbledore believes to be a horcrux After endangering Dumbledores life, Harry recovers a fake locket, left by R.A.B.
Now here is where I get to the point. In the previous book, when they are cleaning Sirius' house there is a locket that nobody could open in a cabinet (OP 108) . Sirius' late brother, Regulas Black was a death eater and was killed for leaving Voldemort's service. Is Regulas R.A.B? If he is did he hid the locket in his house? If so, was it discarded, or simply thrown into an unused closet? The house is now Harry's....maybe he'll find the locket.
Another thing: Comment on my blog!

Digital Camera!!!
Well, we got a digital camera (now James can quit whining!!!). It was our first wedding present from my parents. For more info, see James' blog. The digital camera idea was popular among the parents-James' parents were thinking about getting us a camera as well!!! They'll just have to think of something else now......

We're going to Paris!!!
I am so excited (and James is too): we are going to Paris in May!! A little earlier than we had planned but we found a good flight and everything else is just falling into place. We will have very little time after the wedding since we leave on the 22nd! Ahhh....2 days after the wedding. Better pack early. This is the only news in my life lately and I can hardly sleep. The next few months are going to go soooo sssssllllllllloooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwww.
For a picture of the hotel we're staying at, see James' blog.

Back from the lake
We're back from the lake-it was wonderful. I got totally addicted to Sims 2 and I'm not sure how I'll get my homework done now! It was sooooo cold at the cabin; one day the heaters couldn't keep up!! Now that I'm back I have a MOUNTAIN of laundry to do. I think I should update this blog more often but I don't think that will actually happen.
Here are some pics from the week:

I am cool
Everyone else has a blog, why not me? Now everyone (well not everyone-I don't know that many people) gets to read my Harry Potter thoughts, among other things. I'm in the middle of midterms so that's it for now. Bad time to start a blog but calculus is BORING.
