Christmas and stuff

Our first married Christmas was pretty busy. Christmas Eve we ate supper with my family-we had the traditional Ukrainian Christmas eve meal-different kinds of perogies, cabbage rolls, fish, borscht, wheat...and I don't know what else. Oh, but first we went to church. It was so busy they had a service going on in 2 locations (for at least 2 of the 3 services)-we had to sit in the cafeteria but we had a seat. It ended up being standing room only. After church and supper we opened a few gifts before going to James' grandparents house to visit with his family.

Christmas morning started with me waking up at 6am. We opened our gifts and had a nap before going to have Christmas morning with James' family at 10am. We got lots of great gifts! Then we went to my parents house around 3pm to have Christmas with them. We opened more great gifts and then had supper with them. By the end of the day we were exhausted! We went to bed late and woke up at the crack of dawn to go shopping.

From Dec 30-Jan 4th we went to my parents cabin. My dad, my sister, and my sisters friend were there on Saturday night. It was an awesome vacation, very relaxing! It was too warm though (what a complaint....)-our food was melting (we keep the frozen stuff outside in the winter!). The amount of snow was incredible and the RM didn't plow our road. Good thing dad borrowed a snow blower!

We shot some fireworks on the 30th. They were cool!

Check out the snow drifts in front of the cabin!
